Gregory W. Deckert
Biography
Greg has both transactional and litigation related practices. His transactional practice focuses on estate and business planning for individuals and families as well as succession planning for owners of small businesses. He is also an accomplished trial attorney with over 32 years of experience in a wide range of litigation fields. His litigation practice focuses on representing clients in matters involving professional malpractice, probate and trust administration, and commercial disputes.
Greg received his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1988. He began his legal career with the law firm now known as Bassford Remele and was a shareholder there until 2002 when he left to develop an estate planning practice at Vest & Deckert, P.A. In 2007, Deckert & Van Loh, P.A. was formed and became Deckert Law, P.A. in 2020. Greg continues to serve clients in the metro area and outstate Minnesota, as well as North Dakota and Wisconsin. Greg is also licensed in the federal court for the federal district of Minnesota and has tried numerous bench and jury trials in both state and federal court. Greg has been selected by his peers in multiple years as a “Super Lawyer.”
Besides practicing law, Greg enjoys spending time with his wife Pam and their four children. He and his family are active in their church, school, and community. Greg has spent many years coaching youth sports and serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations.
